Novak Djokovic has won the 2023 Australian Open tennis championship in Melbourne, without a covid injection. He was allowed to play as Australia had recently lifted its “vaccine” requirement for foreign visitors. Today everyone is celebrating Djokovic’s 10th Aussie Open win, but in reality we are at war.
We must not forget that a year ago, just prior to last year’s tournament in January 2022, the Australian government smeared him as a wacko for trying to enter the tournament without the shot. The BBC concocted a dossier, listing examples of what it called “questionable science” coming from the tennis player. You have to read this BBC crap to believe it. Australia then used the dossier to kick Djokovic out the country just prior to the start of the matches.
Australia is all smiles today, but a year ago they staged the equivalent of a public hanging to scare the other tennis players into silence and conformity and throw a blanket of censorship over the idea that naturally-acquired immunity works.
The government’s decision to send Novak back to Europe was reviewed by a panel of Federal judges who upheld the decision. The judges wrote:
"Even if Mr. Djokovic did not win the Australian Open, the capacity of his presence in Australia playing tennis to encourage those who would emulate or wish to be like him is a rational foundation for the view that he might foster anti-vaccination sentiment."
Government propaganda had targeted Djokovic since early 2020 when he said on Twitter that he was not pro-vaccine in general but had an open mind about a future covid vax. Given his worldwide fame, this less-than-enthusiastic sentiment could not be allowed to remain unpunished.
And punish him they did, publicly and viciously. You might think that Australia would have told Djokovic quietly in late 2021 that immigration laws prohibit the unvaxed from entering the country, and therefore no need to try to enter the January 2022 Open. That would have been the normal thing to do. But instead Australia went for a brutal humiliation. Djokovic was allowed to fly to Melbourne, thinking that the visa he received from Victoria was sufficient. He was then ordered into a seedy hotel filled with recent migrants. The public smears started, and after about 10 days of treatment worthy of an authoritarian dictatorship, he was booted out.
Surely the ATP and WTA professional tennis tour organizations came to Djokovic’s defense – right? Not exactly. The ATP issued a milquetoast statement welcoming the conclusion of the controversy and underlining its unwavering commitment to the vax mandate. As viewers of The Tennis Channel and ESPN know, every TV commentator robotically mouthed the same line about Djokovic: “His problems are due to choices he made.” No, Tennis Channel and ESPN, his problems were due to choices the government made, and don’t forget it.
Professional tennis used to be entertainment. It’s now a battleground for the government’s war on people’s health and how people think and perceive. Today the agenda is mass injection and tomorrow it will be compliance with whatever new measures they promote.
Djokovic stands out as a man of principal. He risked his reputation, professional achievements, and financial gains. And what about the other pro players? The men and women on the professional tennis tour never came to his defense. The government/corporatist infection of professional tennis may be irreversible, but if we speak out against this war we can at least have a chance at salvaging something.
You are right. Djokovic is a great man. It must have been very difficult for him to stand firm in his conviction. Thank you for the article.
You're so right. We are in a war, and I very much admire Mr. Djokovic for standing his ground during that ridiculous episode. In my opinion, he was the winner in that battle.
